On the right, it can be seen that the stem seal and the downstream seats have been fully dissipated, the stem has been checked onto the inner shoulder, preventing leakage to the atmosphere. The ball has moved downstream onto the secondary metal sealing surface, thus preventing fluid leakage downstream.
Balon ball valves have been successfully tested by an independent laboratory in accordance with API Standard 6FA and BS Standard 6755 fire test standards for soft-seated ball valves. All tests were witnessed by a recognized third-party inspection agency
