Balon Introduces the 2R-S5M-SE - A 5,000 PSI-Rated 2" Regular Port Screwed End Ball Valve (2/1/2004)
Balon’s 5,000 psi rated ball valve will be available in both standard and NACE trim. Like all of Balon’s NACE rated ball valves the 2RS5MNSE is equipped with 316 stainless steel ball and stem with fluorocarbon o-rings, while its standard trim cousin (the 2RS5MSE) uses BUNA-N orings and AISI 1018 nickel chrome plated carbon steel ball and ASTM A31179 Class B Zinc plated carbon steel stem. Balon’s 5,000 psi valve incorporates two (2) important new feature not found in the products presently on the market. First, Balon uses a 4130/4140 Alloy Steel for even greater strength. Second, Balon uses ACME threads to join the valve body and adapter. This advanced design offers greater holding power than do the threads used by other manufacturers.
